Surveillance video released showing driver crashing through, driving inside Hobby Lobby in Attleboro

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) – Attleboro Police have released the surveillance video that shows a driver crashing through and driving around inside the Hobby Lobby store on Newport Avenue in February.

On February 2, 2021, around 5 a.m., officers responded to the craft store to find someone had driven inside and left a path of destruction.

The video surveillance from inside the store shows a driver behind the wheel of a red Subaru crashing through sliding glass doors, driving around inside the store, reversing two times, and driving out of the store through another set of sliding glass doors.

Police later arrested Rick Woodruff, 36, of Somerville about a mile away after they said he left behind his license plate inside the store. Police said the act was intentional.

Some of the charges Woodruff faced were breaking and entering, driving to endanger, and malicious destruction of property. He appeared in court Monday, where court documents show he claims he didn’t remember the incident and denied doing drugs at the time and having a medical condition.

Woodruff was released on personal recognizance and will be back in court in June.
