Suspect Arrested After Standoff in West Greenwich

West Greenwich, RI (WLNE) – A West Greenwich man is in police custody after a standoff late Saturday night.

West Greenwich Police said they were called to a home on Patriot Way at 11:45pm. The caller reported a domestic disturbance and said a man involved in the disturbance had a gun.

Officers arrived and set up a perimeter around the area. They were able to talk to the suspect on the phone and negotiated with him. They said the suspect finally agreed to walk outside and surrender peacefully. Police arrested him without further incident.

50-year-old Raymond Keymont, who lives at the Patriot Way address, is now charged with Domestic Assault/Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and Domestic Disorderly Conduct. He will be arraigned in court on Wednesday, November 24.

Coventry Police, East Greenwich Police and Rhode Island State Police were on scene to assist.
