Suspect charged after Halloween homicide in Pawtucket

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – A 21-year-old Central Falls man was charged with murder after he shot and killed Joel Rosario on Halloween. 

Jairo Esdel Galva turned himself into police on November 4.

On Monday, the Attorney General’s office said Galva was indicted on the following charges:

  • One count of murder
  • One count of discharging a firearm while committing a violent crime resulting in death
  • One count of committing a drive-by shooting
  • One count of carrying a pistol without a license.

Jairo Esdel Galva is being held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions (ACI) and is scheduled to be arraigned on November 19, 2020 in Providence County Superior Court.
