CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) – The man accused of stabbing an inmate at the ACI earlier this week appeared before a judge Thursday morning for an arraignment.

Brian Audette, 50, was ordered held on bail after police say he used a handmade knife to stab another inmate Monday morning.

The maximum security facility was placed in lockdown for several hours Monday morning as a precaution.

Audette is currently serving a life sentence at the ACI for second-degree murder.
