Suspect flees scene of car into house accident

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) –  Police are currently investigating a scene where a car ran into a home on Monday afternoon.

According to police, the department responded to Justice street at 3:22 p.m for a reported car in a house.

police were informed that the vehicle fled the scene East on Justice Street, and a short time later, the caller observed a black male in a green hoodie fleeing on foot towards Academy Ave towards Chalkstone.

Police say the caller stated the suspect returned to the crash to retrieve unknown items before fleeing on foot.

Based upon damage to the house, and tire marks on the curb and the grass, it was determined by the department that the suspect vehicle may have been traveling south on Academy Ave and attempted a left turn unto Justice Street, before losing control, mounting the curb and colliding with the residence.

During the investigation, Police observed cameras on the property of 400 Academy Ave.

Police have not reported any injuries.

Vehicle parts left at the scene determine the vehicle was a silver Ford Fusion, between the years 2010 – 2013 “SEL” model.
