Suspect in Mansfield man’s shooting death arraigned

MANSIFELD, Mass. (WLNE) — Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn III said a suspect in a May shooting was arraigned.

William O’Brien, formerly of Manchester-By-The-Sea, was charged with murder, possession of a large capacity firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition.

Quinn said that 22-year-old O’Brien was a suspect in the May 20 shooting death of Samuel Waters, a 23-year-old from Mansfield.

O’Brien was arrested shortly after the shooting, and is expected back in court on Nov. 1.
