Suspect in North Attleboro homicide to be arraigned Tuesday

NORTH ATTLEBORO, MASS (WLNE) – A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder linked to the shooting death on May 26 in North Attleboro.

Adam Waler, an East Providence resident, was taken into custody by members Bristol County District Attorney’s State Police Unit.

Walker is charged with murder, carrying an illegal firearm, and carrying a loaded illegal firearm.

Walker was held in kail through the weekend and is set to appear in Attleboro District Court.

Police continue to investigate the homicide which occurred on High Street.

Police responded to a residence around 4:01 p.m for a reported shooting incident, and found 38-year-old Peter Schifone, of North Attleboro, suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was rushed to Sturdy Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Schifone was a victim of a hit and run in 2016, where he had a severe leg injury after being dragged by a pick-up truck.
