PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (WLNE) – The suspect wanted for a break-in in Portsmouth earlier this month is now in police custody.

Elliot Britto of Providence was taken into custody Wednesday morning after Police connected him to stolen property sold at a pawn shop.

According to Police, Britto allegedly broke into a Portsmouth home on Bayside Avenue on August 12.

Police say the home owners informed them that two televisions were stolen during the break-in. During an investigation, detectives tracked down the televisions to a pawn shop in Providence that had purchased the televisions.

Britto was identified as the seller of the televisions, and he matched the description of the intruder at the Bayside Avenue residence.

Britto will be arraigned Wednesday in district court.
