Suspect wanted in triple shooting at Providence bar

Providence Police are looking for a suspect wanted in connection to a triple shooting at the bar, El Tiburon, over the weekend.

26-year-old Michael Stokes is wanted for three counts of felony assault with a firearm and several firearm charges in connection to the shooting that occurred at the Valley Street bar on October 17th.

The Board of Licenses voted to close the bar Monday afternoon and keep it closed until November 2nd when the board will meet again.

The shooting happened 1:42 a.m. Saturday morning, injuring a male and two female victims.

Stokes is described as a black male with short, curly hair. He is approximately 5’6" and weighs 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black windbreaker, black t-shirt, and black jeans.

This isn’t the first bout of violence to occur as El Tiburon. In 2007 a reputed gang leader was shot and killed there.
