Table gaming passes in Lincoln, not in Newport

Expanded casino gambling passed in Lincoln, but not in Newport. Rhode Island voters approved table gaming on the state level for both Twin River and Newport Grand.

The problem is, the referendums needed to be endorsed by local voters as well. Local opposition in Newport put a stop to growth plans there.

The first table games at Twin River could be operating by Summer.
