Taunton man facing second OUI charge after a traffic stop

TAUNTON, MASS (WLNE) – A Taunton man was taken into custody on Saturday night following a traffic stop.
Police say at approximately 8:50 p.m on Saturday, a dark-colored was speeding and appeared to be operating in an erratic manner, westbound on Winthrop Street, on Route 44.
Police performed a traffic stop of the vehicle and made contact with the driver.
According to the department, 35-year-old Taunton Resident, David Holmes, was taken into custody following a roadside investigation, which included standardized field sobriety tests.
Holmes was charged with his second OUI offense, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and speeding.
Police say Holmes was released on personal recognizance and will appear in Taunton District Court on Monday, October 7.
