Taunton man in custody as a suspect in a car shooting

TAUNTON, MASS (WLNE) – Police received a 911 call from a female reporting that someone had rear ended her vehicle and then began shooting at her. 

According to police, the shooting happened at approximately 9:55 p.m in the area of 10 Oak Street. 

Police say upon arrival they located the female’s vehicle in the Webster Bank Parking Lot, and the suspect’s vehicle in the Bloom Bus Terminal parking lot. 

Police say they discovered the female’s vehicle had several bullet holes in the rear of her vehicle. She was uninjured. 

As a result of the investigation, Taunton Police arrested 25-year-old Pat Rivera, of Taunton, and charged him with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition. 

Rivera was arraigned in Taunton District Court on Monday, May 6th, and is expected to have a follow-up dangerousness hearing on Thursday, May 9th.
