Teacher at Providence middle school placed on leave after BB gun incident

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A teacher at Roger Williams Middle School in Providence was placed on administrative leave after a BB gun incident last week.

In a letter to parents on April 27, Principal Christina Gibbons wrote that a student was found in possession of a BB gun.

Gibbons said the school went into lockdown and that no one was hurt.

Police were called and the student was apprehended outside of the school, added the principal.

It wasn’t immediately known why the teacher was placed on leave.
