A Central Falls teenager has been charged with threatening to harm police officers on the social media platform Snapchat.

Police say they came across a picture posted on the site of a 16-year-old male holding a .380 caliber handgun and hollow point ammunition. The text on the picture indicated he would harm police officers.

Police arrested the juvenile Thursday at an apartment on Illinois Street. They did not find the gun in the apartment.

The teen was arraigned on charges of threats made to public officials.
