Teenage girl shot at Danbury fair mall Wednesday night

DANBURY, Connecticut (WLNE) – A sixteen year old girl was shot at a mall in Danbury, Connecticut Wednesday night.

Police believe she was an innocent bystander in a fight involving at least eight people.

The girl was shot in the upper chest but was conscious and alert.

She is in the hospital but there’s no word on her condition.

The Danbury Fair mall was put into lockdown as a result of the shooting.

Police say a man was seen running away with a hammer and may have been the intended target.

Police are still searching for the suspect who ran out of the mall.
