The Current State of Medical Marijuana in Rhode Island

The RI Department of Health announced Friday that all 15 applicants to establish medical marijuana 'compassion centers' in the state failed when it came to qualifying to open as a center.

The Health Department's goal was to license three of the 15 applicants, after reviewing components like their business plans, safety plans, and input from the community.

Now, while medical marijuana remains legal in Rhode Island, the road to public centers to obtain it is stopped. ABC6 News Reporter Erin Logan has the story.
