The Hope Street Farmers’ Market was back in action Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – A summertime must returned to Providence today.

The Hope Street Farmers’ Market was back in action at Lippit Park Saturday morning, of course with some restrictions.

Vendors and customers are required to wear masks and reusable shopping bags are prohibited.

If you have been to this outdoor farmer’s market before, visiting now is going to look and fell a lot different.

Marni Maclean-Karro, Board Member of the Hope Street Farmers’ Market said,

“Our market is typically set up in a triangle shape where we have live music, and people congregate and sit around and enjoy the day at our market.  However, we are doing the exact opposite of that now, with the one entrance, one exit, having it completely roped off and asking people to do their essential shopping and then to go home.”

The Hope Street Farmers’ Market runs Saturdays from May to October.
