NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – The last Friendly’s in The Ocean State has permanently shut its doors according to a sign left on the building Monday morning.
The sign reads, “We are sorry to disappoint you on this visit, but this location is now closed for business.”
Friendly’s invites potential patrons to the two nearest locations in Attleboro and Swansea.
According to the sign, Friendly’s is working on placing as many employees in other locations and providing short term financial aid, in lieu of notice, for those who desire to find other opportunities in the area.
The sign ends by saying, “We appreciate your patronage over the years and for allowing us to try and make the world friendly, one scoop at a time”.
