The Pats Add Running Back Depth With LSU’s Ridley.

Patriots draft RB Stevan Ridley from LSU

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – The New England Patriots have drafted
running back Stevan Ridley of LSU with the ninth pick of the third
round.
They already had taken running back Shane Vereen of California
with the 28th pick of the second round.
The 6-foot, 225-pound Ridley started only nine of his 39 games
at LSU, but had at least one touchdown in 10 of 13 games last
season. As a junior in 2010, he ran for 1,147 yards and 15
touchdowns as the Tigers' primary ball carrier. For his career, he
carried the ball just 306 times but gained 1,419 yards for 19
touchdowns.
Ridley is considered a powerful inside runner and has sufficient
size to block for the quarterback.
