Three juveniles arrested after firing BB guns at people

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – Three juveniles were arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon after they allegedly pointed and fired BB guns at people.

Police received calls for suspects shooting at people with BB guns, causing personal injury and property damage in the area of Manton Avenue and Chalkstone Ave on Thursday night.

Subjects were observed driving recklessly in the area driving a dark-colored BMW, and would immediately upon being observed.

At approximately 12:10 AM on Friday, a Brown University employee called police and reported she had a rifle pointed at her by subjects inside the vehicle.

According to police, as officers were speaking with the woman, patrol units observed the BMW on North Main Street and attempted to stop it, then a pursuit engaged.

A lengthy pursuit transpired, with the BMW at one point entering Pawtucket, where Pawtucket PD also assisted in the apprehension of the vehicle.

Due to mechanical problems, the suspect vehicle came to a stop after hitting a large granite curbing.

All three suspects in the car were juveniles, and one received a cut on their face as a result of striking the dashboard.

All of them were charged with two counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy.

The driver was also charged with reckless/eluding.

Johnston and Rhode Island State Police also assisted in the search.
