Three Mass men charged in larcenies all over New England

Three men were arrested in Cranston Wednesday in connections to close to a dozen shoplifting incidents in throughout New England.

Police arrested Robert Akins, 46, of Roxbury, MA, Jason Elder, 33, of Dorchester, MA, and Israel Reyes, 31 of Dorchester, MA, were arrested after a shoplifting incident at a local department store in Garfield Plaza.

Police pulled over the stolen vehicle and found the men in possession of stolen items from the store.

Detectives were able to connect at least two of these men to numerous unsolved shopliftings with occurrences RI, MA, and NH and are suspected of stealing over $20,000 in store merchandise.

Akins, who is known to disguise himself as a female named “Tatiana”, had four warrants for his arrest for different larceny charges.

Police say they were able to clear 11 incidents of shoplifting and recover over $2,600 in stolen merchandise.

The men are being charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, shoplifting, receiving stolen goods and conspiracy.
