Three men charged after shootout in Boston
BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Three men were arraigned Monday on a litany of gun charges after a shootout left 21 shell casing in the South End, District Attorney Kevin Hayden said.
Authorities said around 9:30 p.m. on May 6, Boston police responded to a Shot Spotter activation at 1514 Washington Street where they found two cars and a house that sustained ballistic damage.
According to court documents, the three men indicted in connection to the shooting are identified and charged as follows:
- Brandon Chacon, 25, of Quincy:
- Carrying a firearm without a license

- Jaysia Wood, 20, of Boston:

Police said video surveillance from the night of May 6 shows a group of six people walking on West Dedham street.
Two of the people in the footage cross onto Washington Street while the rest of the group stayed at the corner. The two were later identified as Laboy and Wood.
Officials said at about 9:28 p.m., the footage shows Laboy and Wood walking on Mystic Street and shooting at someone, later identified as Chacon.
Authorities said Chacon began shooting back at the Laboy and Wood, firing a total of 21 shots. Police said they later located two projectiles along with the shell casings.
Body-worn camera footage and surveillance footage led police to identify the three men involved in the shooting.
Police said no injuries or fatalities were reported from the incident.
“The sheer number of shell casings at the scene combined with the amount of ballistic damage tells the story of how menacing this gun violence is to our neighborhoods,” DA Hayden said.
“These individuals pull triggers with no consideration of the havoc and heartbreak they might cause,” he continued.
Chacon, Wood and Laboy are all being held without bail pending dangerousness hearing scheduled for May 18.
