Tim Wakefield Becomes Oldest Red Sox In Team History

BOSTON (AP) – The next time Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield heads
to the mound, he will do so as the oldest player to play for the
Red Sox. The veteran knuckleballer turns 44 years and 280 days
today matching Deacon McGuire's age when the catcher made his last
appearance for Boston as a pinch-hitter on August 24th, 1908.
