Toddler accidentally shoots both of his parents in Maine

WEST BATH, ME (WLNE) – Three family members were hurt when a two-year-old boy accidentally fired a gun.

Police  were called to the scene of the shooting in West Bath, Maine Wednesday morning.

Authorities say the child grabbed a gun lying on a nightstand and shot both of his parents.

The 22-year-old mother had a leg wound and the 25-year-old father was struck in the head.

The child’s face was injured by the weapon’s recoil.

All three are expected to survive.

Authorities are investigating how the boy got a hold of the gun and fired it.
