Toddler left alone in a locked, running car

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) – A toddler left unattended in a locked, running car was saved by police.

Police responded to a report of the unattended toddler on Tuesday, July 3, at approximately 1:20 p.m. 

Upon arrival, police broke through the driver’s side and passenger’s side window to get into the car.

The toddler was then examined by rescue personnel, and did not have any serious injuries.

Annelise Marie Ambert has been identified as the suspect, who was charged with cruelty and neglect of a child.
