Tornado sirens blare in Providence as heavy winds, rain slam area

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Tornado sirens blared in Providence Friday morning as parts of Rhode Island and Massachusetts were slammed with heavy rain and winds.

The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning for Pawtucket, Providence, Attleboro, Norton, and Mansfield.

In a video shared with ABC 6 News, the sirens could be heard as the rain and winds rip through the area.

In Providence County, according to Rhode Island Energy, 3,265 customers were left without power.
