Tracking a Coastal Storm for Tonight
Tuesday will be a day of transition. Clouds will be building in throughout the day, thickening up ahead of the arrival of a coastal storm. Precipitation associated with this storm will be varied across New England with snow expected in northern New England and the Berkshires. In those areas, there will also be a chance of freezing rain and ice accretion. For Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts, we will see it as all rain. Early Wednesday morning, we will also have a chance of thunderstorms. Rainfall totals will be half an inch to an inch of rainfall, with locally higher amounts in any thunderstorms. The storm passes Wednesday night and high pressure moves back in, bringing sunshine and dry conditions through the upcoming weekend. Temperature-wise, it will still be much colder than average.
