Tractor trailer rollover closes I-295 in Cumberland
CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WLNE) — A tractor trailer carrying salt rolled over in Cumberland and closed down southbound lanes on Interstate 295.
ABC6 News crews were on the scene where the trailer was on its side and crews were cleaning up tons of salt that spilled across three lanes of traffic.
Rhode Island State Police said the driver was taken to Rhode Island Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Traffic has since been cleared but State Troopers remain on the scene to clear the debris from the road.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
