Train currently stopped in Providence: “Trespasser incident” on the tracks says Amtrak

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – Amtrak police are working with Providence police after a train was stopped due to a “trespasser incident” that happened at 10:13 AM on Thursday.

As a result of the stop, an on-time section of Train 93, traveling between Boston and Norfolk, Virginia,  will operate out of New York (NYP).

Amtrak says there were no reported injuries to any of the passengers or crew members on board.

Amtrak also says that an additional train, Train 190, was stopped just west of Providence because of the police activity.

At this time, Train 190 continues to be delayed.

This is a developing story, and more details will be added as they become available.
