Transformer fire forces evacuation at hospital in Brockton
BROCKTON, Mass. (WLNE) — A transformer fire forced an evacuation at a hospital Brockton Tuesday morning.
The fire happened at about 7 a.m. in the transformer room of Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital on Centre Street.
Brockton Fire Chief Brian Nardelli said they were faced with the decision of whether or not to evacuate the facility because of the electrical nature of the fire.
Firefighters eventually evacuated the hospital because there’s no power to the building. It’s unclear at this time how many people evacuate.
No injuries were reported.
