North Kingstown residents clean up post-storm damage, many without power
NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE)- Areas throughout Providence County had a tornado warning Saturday night, as rain, winds, and hail blew through Rhode Island.
But, a little further south in Washington County, North Kingstown residents are still cleaning up after some major damage caused by the storm.
The town was filled with downed trees, power lines, and crews working to clean up the debris and restore power to customers.
“That emergency alert…that really scares you, ya know? Gives you a jolt like ‘ohhhh’ what do?” said LouAnn Rippin, owner of Healey’s Farm in North Kingstown.
Rippin told ABC6 News a tree landed directly on her truck during the storm, possibly totaling it.
“Better the truck than the garage,” she explained. “It is metal and that would go down like a ton of bricks.”
North Kingstown Fire Department told ABC6 there were no injuries reported during the storm, but many residents are still without power.
