Turning Much Cooler
Cooler and more seasonable temperatures are back today. Thanks to a large area of high pressure, we will see plenty of sunshine through midweek. This area of high pressure will keep skies clear overnight too and temperatures will be dropping off pretty quickly and pretty far. As a result, coastal counties of Southern New England are in a FREEZE WATCH for Wednesday morning. As low temperatures are expected to drop to near 30, it will effectively end the growing season there. Calm and seasonably cool conditions will be here through Thursday. There is an increasing likeliness of the remnants of subtropical storm Nicole coming through Southern New England Friday into Saturday. Expect tropically-enhanced periods of heavy rain and gusty winds. Localized flooding is on the table and we can help ease the situation by clearing storm drains of any leaves.
