Twin River and Tiverton casinos to remain closed until further notice

PROVIDENCE, RI (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Lottery Director Gerald Aubin has decided to extend the closure of Twin River Casino and Tiverton Casino until further notice.

“We have been informed by the Rhode Island Department of Revenue, Lottery Division that Twin River Casino Hotel and Tiverton Casino Hotel will remain temporarily closed until further notice,” Marc Crisafulli, President of Twin River Casino Hotel and Tiverton Casino Hotel said in a statement Friday. “Like most Rhode Islanders, we continue to believe that the State’s continued efforts to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus are critically important, and we further believe our continued temporary closure is necessary to help ensure the health and safety of our employees, customers, and all residents of Rhode Island.”

Crisafulli added that the casinos have begun to work diligently to implement additional protective measures upon re-opening.

The last day both casinos were open was on March 13.
