Twin River gives a ‘sneak peak’ into the preparation work for June 8 reopening

LINCOLN, RI (WLNE) – Twin River Worldwide Holdings is putting together the final touches in its Lincoln and Tiverton casinos to get ready to reopen on Monday.

The Lincoln-based gaming company decided to close its Rhode Island casinos back on March 14 due to health and safety concerns surrounding COVID-19.

Craig Sculos, Vice-President and General Manager of Twin River Casino Hotel, says the company is putting together a plan that “keeps the fun of the casino” but is doing it responsibly.

Sculos says seating is limited and you have to be invited to play.

“We go into the database to our universe of known, loyal customers,” Sculos said. “The mail was forwarded so they already received their invitations. They’re entitled to one guest.”

When players arrive on Monday they will go through several screenings to make sure everyone is safe and abiding by RIDOH guidance, Sculos said.

The casinos will provide masks and must be work.

Sculos says Twin River will be open from 10 until Midnight.

Twin River expects around 1,500 guests throughout the day on Monday.
