NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — Two men arrested in connection to a New Bedford murder on April 29, brought before a judge Tuesday morning- both entering a not guilty plea.

The DA’s office said police arrested 41-year-old Jonathan Medina Perez, of Fall River this weekend, and 33-year-old Jonathan Goncalves, of New Bedford, early on Monday morning.

Perez was charged with murder and two counts of armed assault with intent to murder.

Goncalves was charged with accessory to murder-before the fact and accessory to murder-after the fact.

Both are being held without bail.

On April 29, 36-year-old Luis Miranda was found shot to death in his car just after 1 a.m.

The district attorney’s office said ShotSpotter — a gunshot detection system — alerted New Bedford police to shots being fired in that area.
