Two arrested in Fall River following weekend police searches

FALL RIVER, M.A (WLNE) –  Two Fall River residents were arrested following two separate police searches on October 30.

Rakeem Tubbs, 32, was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine in excess of 100 grams.

A search of Tubbs’s apartment by the Fall River Police Department revealed the following:

  • One plastic bag of suspected crack cocaine (19.19 grams)
  • A digital scale
  • A safe containing five plastic bags of suspected crack cocaine (107.34 grams total) and $3,565.00 U.S. currency.

The total weight of the suspected crack cocaine seized was 126.53 grams. The total amount of money seized was $4,034.00.

Additionally, a 16-year-old juvenile was arrested and charged with possession of a non-large capacity firearm in a home and possession of ammunition without a Firearms Identification Card (FID).

A search of their apartment revealed the following items:

  • One (1) Silver Beretta 9mm (MOD. 92FS) semiautomatic pistol with an obliterated serial number
  • One –(10) 9mm round magazine, with 9 rounds of 9mm ammunition

“Our investigators are relentless in identifying those individuals peddling dangerous drugs or possessing illegal firearms in our community,” said Fall River Police Chief Jeffrey Cardoza. “Along with our federal and State partners, we will continue to ferret out anyone involved in the types of offenses”.
