Two dead after dirt bike and SUV collide in Cranston

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Cranston police said two people are dead following a crash between an SUV and a dirt bike.
According to authorities, the dirt bike was traveling West and the SUV was traveling North when they collided at the corner of Broad Street and Wheeler Avenue.
Police said the two occupants on the dirt bike died while being transported to the hospital.
An SUV nearby sustained moderate damage to its front fender.
The driver of the SUV sustained no reported injuries.
Police further confirmed to ABC6 News that the dirt bike involved was not road-legal.
Police have closed down the streets and set up a large perimeter of crime scene tape.
The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing.
