Two Dead in East Greenwich Car Accident

An early-morning car accident in East Greenwich has resulted in the deaths of two people, with two others injured and taken to Rhode Island Hospital, according to Police.

Police say the four occupants of the vehicle were all in their early 20s.

East Greenwich police say the accident happened on Shippee Town Road in east Greenwich, when a car with four people inside crashed. Two people were ejected through the windshield, and two were pronounced dead at the scene.

The condition of the two people who were injured is unknown at this time, according to police.

Police say speed was a factor in the crash. The two-lane road has a posted 25 mph speed limit.

The accident is under investigation.
