Two people were hospitalized after a serious three car crash on Comstock Parkway in Cranston.

One of the vehicles in the accident was ripped in half after it collided with a tree.

The incident happened just before 11 p.m. on Monday night.

Aleta Heidt’s husband William was one of the victims hurt in the crash.  She says it was a horrifying experience.

“All I saw was a mass of rescue trucks, cops, fire trucks.  I saw the Focus if you seen that picture it’s completely gone. We have to do something there before somebody gets killed,” said Heidt.

Residents say this is the third bad accident in this stretch of road since 2011.

“People, somebody get something done to stop the speed and the darkness here so that this does not happen again and somebody doesn’t loose their life,” said resident Bill Feldman.

Mayor Allan Fung’s office says they’re aware of the issues on Comstock Parkway and have made changes in the past.  They’re going to wait and see what the investigation shows from Monday’s accident before making any adjustments.

No charges have been filed in connection with the accident.
