Two members of Narragansett Police Department test positive for COVID-19

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WLNE) – Two members of the Narragansett Police Department have tested positive for COVID-19, the Department announced on Friday.

In a Facebook post, Narragansett Police Chief Sean Corrigan shared that after one positive test, a group of seven close contacts were tested for the virus.  One member of the group tested positive, while the others tested negative.

Chief Corrigan says those who tested positive are now self-isolating at home.

The Rhode Island Department of Health will be conducting an independent contact tracing investigation, according to the post.

The Narragansett Police Department says they have been practicing social distancing, utilizing PPE’s (Personal Protective Equipment), and enhanced environmental cleaning.
