Two Rhode Island State Police cruisers struck overnight

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Rhode Island State Police had two of their cruisers struck early on Sunday morning, officials tell ABC6.

The two cruisers were struck in different incidents.

The first cruiser was struck near Exit 23 on I-95 South at around 2:50 a.m.

State Police said that the driver who crashed into the cruiser was charged with a DUI.

The second cruiser was struck at 3 a.m. while a state trooper was assisting a colleague with another incident near Exit 23 on I-95 North.

A different driver side swiped the cruiser on the driver’s side.

The second driver was cited with the mover over law.

No one was injured in either crash.
