Two taken to hospital in overnight Cranston fire

An overnight fire broke out Friday morning that destroyed a multi-family home on Princess Street in Cranston.

The call came in just before 2 a.m.

Fire officials say two people were taken to the hospital as a result. One firefighter was
injured when a ceiling collapsed on him. A resident of the house also suffered serious burns to his arms chest and back.

The Red Cross is assisting seven people who were displaced from the home.

The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
