Two Woonsocket men arrested on firearm, drug charges

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) – Two men were arrested Thursday on drug and firearm charges after a joint investigation by Woonsocket and Rhode Island State Police.
Juan Navarro, 36, and Zackary Bruneault, 21, both of Woonsocket, were arrested Thursday following court-authorized searches of their Woonsocket homes.
Officers on scene seized the following items during their searches:
- 314 grams of Cocaine
- 41 grams of “crack” Cocaine
- One Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun
- 10 Xanax pills
- $3,728.00 in S. currency
Both Navarro and Bruneault face the following charges:
- Delivery/possession with intent to deliver & manufacture a Schedule II controlled substance – cocaine / “crack” cocaine
- Delivery/possession with intent to deliver & manufacture a Schedule IV controlled substance (Xanax)
- Possession of cocaine – one (1) ounce to one (1) kilo
- Possession of firearm while committing a controlled substance violation
- Controlled substance conspiracy
- Distribution in or near a school zone
Both men were scheduled to be arraigned in Sixth Division District Court.
State Police noted that Navarro was also charged with violating probation of a 2011 conviction resulting from pleading guilty to carrying a pistol without a license. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison with 18 months to serve.
