Rounds of rain, cooler weather on the way
After a pair of lovely days across southern New England, a fairly unsettled – and at times chilly – pattern is setting up for us over the next week.
Clouds move in tonight, with a few sprinkles possible along the coast. Thursday will be overcast with scattered showers – not a washout.
Friday the rain pushes south along a stationary front, and high pressure to our north will even thin out the clouds a bit before the next storm moves in Saturday.
The day will start off with dry conditions, but you can expect a steady rain by the afternoon hours. It will also be chilly, with highs only reaching the low to mid 40s.
Some areas to our north and west may even see some wet snowflakes or sleet pellets mixed in at the onset of the precipitation.
Sunshine will return on Sunday with a blustery northwest wind. Looking ahead to next week, more rain and more chilly air is expected.
