Unsettled Saturday and Possible Coastal Storm Next Week

We have some precipitation on the way tonight. After such a lovely Friday, clouds will build in tonight and a wintry mix of rain and snow will develop late tonight. Little to no snow accumulation is expected in southeastern Southern New England through Saturday. Expect clouds and rain/snow showers through Saturday morning and tapering off through the afternoon before ending Saturday night. Sunday will be the clear winner of the weekend with tons of sunshine and seasonable temperatures topping out in the upper-40s. The forecast gets tricky as we start next week. We are watching two storms, one in the Pacific Northwest and the other in the southeast. these lows will head towards New England and combine into a rapidly developing coastal storm Monday . The coastal storm will then head towards southern New England. From here, we don’t know the track, intensity and timing of the storm. These elements will determine whether we’ll see rain or snow or both. The intensity of the precipitation will also be determined by these storm factors. Through the weekend, these will be honed, but as of now, rain is the more likely solution for our corner of southern New England.
