The Fire Department of New York says Battalion Chief Michael J. Fahy has died in a Bronx house explosion after a report of a gas leak and a drug lab.

Crews responded to a report of a gas leak Tuesday morning in the Bronx and found what appeared to be a drug lab.

The two-story house then exploded.

Much of the house was completely gone, and debris covered the street and cars.

Police say six officers were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

According to authorities, firefighters had notified police after finding a drug lab. The house exploded afterward.
