UPDATE: Body of Missing Swimmer Found

NEWPORT, R.I. (AP) – Rhode Island officials have recovered the body of a New York City man who drowned while trying to rescue a friend struggling in treacherous waters off Newport.
State environmental officials say the body of 23-year-old Nicholas Napolitano was located Tuesday afternoon off Brenton Point.
Officials say Napolitano was pulled into the surf on Sunday after jumping into the water at about 1:20 p.m. in an attempt to help 21-year-old Gregory Minetti, of Bronxsville, N.Y.
Officials say Minetti was rescued and taken to Newport Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Brenton Point is not designated as a swimming area and there are no lifeguards on duty.
