URI shuttle bus hits student in crosswalk on Kingston campus
KINGSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The University of Rhode Island said they are investigating after a bus hit a student.
URI police said a contracted shuttle bus struck a student in a crosswalk last week. They said the victim was not seriously injured.
A spokesperson for URI said the university’s transportation services agreement is with First Transit, Inc., adding that because they are a contracted agency, the university can’t comment or issue any disciplinary measures.
The spokesperson said stated they can’t release the identity or health information of the pedestrian who was hit.
No further information was immediately released.
