KYIV, Ukraine (WLNE) — The United States Embassy in Kyiv urged Americans to leave Ukraine immediately after another wave of Russian strikes.

Russia launched an attack against Ukraine Monday morning, killing at least eight people and leaving 24 injured in just one of the strikes.

“Russia’s continued strikes in Ukraine pose a direct threat to civilians and civilian infrastructure,” the Embassy said, in a security alert.

The alert said all Americans still in Ukraine should shelter in place and depart now using “when it is safe to do so.”
