Utility truck rolls over in New Bedford, driver facing charges

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — A man was arrested after a two-car crash that led to a utility truck rolling over in New Bedford Monday.

The crash happened just before 3 p.m. on the ramp from Route 195 east to Route 140 north in New Bedford.

An ABC 6 News crew captured a utility truck rolled over off the roadway.

Massachusetts State Police said two woman inside a Honda Odyssey were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the utility truck, identified as 32-year-old Tiago Melo, was arrest on charges of operating with a revoked license, no inspection sticker and marked lanes violation.

Police said Melo, who is from New Bedford, also had three additional active arrest warrants.

Crews were able to get the truck back upright and the scene has been cleared.
